Hamed Behdad offers best actor award to Iran hero martyr

Iran actor Hamed Behdad dedicates award for Best Actor in a Leading Role at Iran Film Critics and Screenwriters Gala to hero martyr Mohsen Hojaji.

Winning the award for staring in ‘Blockage’, Behdad honored Iranian hero Mohsen Hojaji who was recently martyred in the battle against Daesh in Syria.

Born in 1973, Hamed Behdad was born in the holy city of Mashhad.

He spent his childhood between Mashhad and the capital city of Tehran. Behdad studied Theater at the Islamic Azad University.

He made his film debut in 2000 with the lead role in 'End Game', a role that won him a nomination for a Best Actor Crystal Simorgh at the 19th Fajr International Film Festival.

Behdad subsequently appeared in several movies, mostly taking supporting roles, but his outstanding performances won him several awards and nominations at different film festivals.

He won critical and popular acclaim for the wartime flick 'The Third Day' (2006). He was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role Crystal Simorgh at the 25th Fajr International Film Festival for his portrayal of an Iraqi officer in love with an Iranian girl during the Iran-Iraq war in this movie.

In 2010, Behdad finally won his first Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Masoud Kimiayi’s 'Crime' (2010).

Some of his other movies are 'Every Night Loneliness' (2007), 'Sa’adat Abad' (2010), 'The Orange Suit' (2011) and 'The Last Step' (2011).

The 11th edition of Iran Film Critics and Screenwriters Gala was held on Thursday, announcing the winners of various sections.
